No Footage From The Last Jedi Until Celebration in April

Those believing claims that they’ll see a teaser for The Last Jedi soon will be disappointed by this report, but there’s big things coming.

Today StarWarsNewsNet ran a report they heard from a source that says there will be no footage released for The Last Jedi until Star Wars Celebration. However we may be getting a lot of footage in April to make up for the wait:

“With this in mind we contacted one of our sources who shared with us an interesting tidbit. According to him, right now they are hard at work on a new Behind the Scenes reel for The Last Jedi, which will be the first footage that we will see from the movie. This means that there will be no teaser trailer before Celebration. All rumors on the web with earlier dates are not accurate, as are the reports with teaser descriptions. While a BTS reel premiering during Celebration is not surprising at all, since they did pretty much the same for The Force Awakens and Rogue One, it is interesting that we will be heading into Celebration without any TLJ footage released before. That is of course if we don’t count the brief start of production video that Lucasfilm released back in February.”

They go on to say that in addition to the Behind the Scenes reel, there will also be a teaser at Celebration. This is similar to how they treated Rogue One, with a BTS thing during the panel and a teaser following it (that wasn’t shown online). In this case both the BTS reel and the teaser trailer will be shown to people not at the convention.

As their source backs up, and doesn’t contradict, what the head of Lucasfilm has said in regards to the trailer; chances are this is legit. Of course that means the people claiming we’d get a trailer on February 10th or the 22nd/23rd are obviously just trying to exploit people’s hype for the movie.
