People are really stupid when it comes to sensationalizing the smallest bit of Star Wars Episode VIII news.

Today Mark Hamill finally shaved his “contractually obligated” beard that he hates to wear, and it’s sparked a deluge of facepalm-inducing Star Wars clickbait:

The dumbest articles are speculating that since Mark Hamill shaved the beard he doesn’t like to have more than a year before Episode IX is set to start filming, it means Luke dies in Episode VIII. People who are that stupid to spread speculation like that when looking at the reality of the situation have no business writing any blog posts about Star Wars, period.

Since Hamill shaved off his beard already it either means that reshoots for Episode VIII won’t be until next summer some time or it’s possible he won’t be needed in the reshoots at all as they have everything they need of Luke locked down.

If Hamill begins to regrow his beard next spring, that means they’re going for Episode VIII reshoots. If not, we’ll start to see the beard reappear around the release of the movie next December as they will begin to shoot Episode IX in early 2018.
