Good-bye to Grimm

For five seasons NBC’s Grimm has proved that a show can stay alive on the dreaded Friday night timeslot. While other shows, like the short-lived Constantine, only survived one season, Grimm has lived on with its #ThankGrimmit’sFriday slogan. But that changed Monday when it was released by the network that its sixth season would be the last. They announced on twitter there would be #AGrimmFarewell after its season premiere January 6th.

The season five finale, ironically entitled “The Beginning of the End” (parts 1 and 2), saw Nick Berkhart (David Giuntoli) take down Black Claw only to be confronted with a familiar nemesis, Captain Renard. Grimm is notorious for having nail biting season finales that have even apologized for leaving fans hanging. Hopefully this new 13 episode season will tie up loose threads with a satisfying conclusion. As a loyal fan since season one I will not be sad to see the show end. It feels like the right time. Grimm returns to NBC January 6th at 8 pm.
