Supergirl may be changing networks from CBS to The CW this fall, but that’s all that seems to be changing for the most part.
The show will remain on Mondays at 8:00pm, again pitting it up against Fox’s Gotham for your DVR recording time. The budget of the show will also drop a bit moving to The CW, but that’ll just put it in line with the other DC shows on the network. One of the reasons for the bigger budget on CBS was because they filmed the show in Los Angeles. They’re moving production to Vancouver with the other CW DC shows to cut down costs.
This now means that The CW has one DC Comics show airing each night from Monday through Thursday (iZombie is technically a Vertigo show, and in a different universe). Only Friday doesn’t have a DC comics show (yet), and it’ll be interesting to see if they find some way to integrate Supergirl into the Arrowverse as it’s already been established that her show exists in a parallel dimension.
Even if they don’t do that, having the show on The CW and filming in the same city will make future cross-overs with The Flash much easier to do.
