If you’ve never seen the Star Wars trilogy on the big screen, you’ll get your chance this August.

EW has revealed that the Alamo Drafthouse chain of theaters has received approval to do a roadshow engagement of the Star Wars Trilogy this August. Sorry purists, the prints will be 1997 Special Edition versions:

“The films will be presented in their 1997 re-release format. Tickets for most markets will go on sale at ReturnOfTheTrilogy.com on May 4 – aka, Star Wars Day. (You know, “May the 4th Be With You”?) Each screening will feature curated video content before and between films, contests, props and other “special surprises.””

The full schedule is available at the link above. This is a great opportunity to see Star Wars as it was intended to be seen, on the big screen with big sound.
