Awards season is starting to heat up, and Mad Max: Fury Road was just named Film of the Year by one of the groups handing out pre-Oscar statues.
Varity reports that the National Board of Review selected Mad Max: Fury Road as the best movie released in 2015. That comes as a shock to many because the action movie genre isn’t usually well represented in the otherwise stuffy awards season selection of boring Oscar-bait films.
It’s doubtful the movie could stand a chance even being nominated for Best Picture, but stranger things have happened. Fans who have seen the movie know how awesome it was, so hopefully this award will get more people to WITNESS the face-melting awesomeness of Fury Road.
