James Gunn Destroys the Latest Star-Lord Parentage \’Scoop\’

|

guardians_of_the_galaxyLast week Heroic Hollywood dropped a scoop where they claimed that Captain Mar-Vell was the father of Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. James Gunn was quick to deny the rumor on his Facebook page, but that wasn’t enough for the internet who would rather believe a scoop on a website than the traditionally very honest writer/director of the movie series.

Last night a Twitter war erupted where Heroic Hollywood basically interrogated James Gunn, and the director smashed the Star-Lord parentage rumor once and for all:

He makes a lot of sense. As Mar-Vell is a Kree, him being the father of Star-Lord doesn’t match up with the dialog at the end of the first movie. Also I find it interesting that he says he never debunked Adam Warlock, which means he has a chance of showing up in the movie…which most comic fans are expecting with what’s coming with the Infinity Stones.

There’s no reason to not believe Gunn here. He’s always been very honest with his fans on social media, so if he says he’s 1000% sure Star-Lord’s father isn’t Mar-vell, then that means it’s someone else.
