It’s been rumored for quite a while that the Wonder Woman movie would be a period piece much like Captain America: The First Avenger. Unlike that Marvel film, this one will actually go further back in time and now a new rumor tells us what time periods the movie will show.
According to Den of Geek, this is where Diana will adventure in her first solo outing:
“The first setting will be Themyscira, the idyllic island Wonder Woman has called home since her adventures began in the 1940s.
The second period is World War I – the specific year we’ve been given is 1916, which places it right in the middle of that conflict.
The movie will then move to the modern day, where it will tie into the events of Justice League Part One, out at the end of 2017 and also set to star Gadot’s Wonder Woman.”
This backs up a report a month ago by Heroic Hollywood that said WWI would be one of the settings in the movie, instead of WWII as previously rumored. How it will tie into Justice League Part One will be interesting to see for sure…
