Marvel has released a clip that shows off the first five minutes from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 showcasing Daisy Johnson in action as Quake.
The clip opens showing that someone had their powers triggered by some Terrigen-contaminated fish oil, as last year’s season finale hinted at. This is more evidence that this season could be following a version of the “Terrigen bomb” storyline that recently happened in the comics where millions of new Inhumans were triggered around the world. The addition of the Inhuman Lash to the series supports this even more.
S.H.I.E.L.D.’s big annoyance this season is going by a different name, but based on this clip they appear to be the MCU’s version of S.W.O.R.D.. In the comics that organization defended against alien threats, and that’s definitely what these people are doing in this clip. It’s likely they didn’t want another abbreviated organization in the MCU, which is why they’re not being called S.W.O.R.D..
