Marvel fans were celebrating earlier this week when it was revealed that Kevin Feige will no longer have to report to CEO Ike Perlmutter, but instead will go directly to Disney. Now more information about this drama has come out, and it was arguments over the budget of Captain America: Civil War that nearly drove Feige from Marvel Studios.
According to THR, the issues with Ike Perlmutter almost caused Feige to jump ship:
“Sources say Feige, 42, contemplated leaving Marvel — certainly he might be the industry’s single most employable executive — before Disney CEO Bob Iger approved a reorganization that sees Feige reporting to Horn.”
Thankfully Iger knew what was best and allowed Feige what he wanted so he could continue to guide the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
