Long rumored, but now confirmed, all three Uncharted games are being re-released in HD on the PS4 this fall in the Nathan Drake Collection.
Featuring Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception in 1080p HD the collection will release this October to fill a gap in Sony’s admitted “sparse” holiday lineup on the PS4. What better way to make people fell good about their $400 next-generation console investment then re-selling them games they already played on the console they just ditched?
The collection is being handled by the excellent Bluepoint. They are known for doing HD collections of PS2 games that came out on the PS3, and they’re also responsible for the very good Xbox 360 port of Titanfall. So it’s in good hands. In addition to making the games run at 1080p, they’ll also be adding a Photomode to the game. This is similar to what The Order 1886 had, which is really the only reason PS4 fans still “play” that “game” these days (every else has already traded in their copy).
As a sweetener to convince people to re-buy the Uncharted trilogy on the PS4, the collection will give you access to the Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta.
Here’s Sony’s trailer for the Nathan Drake collection, which strangely doesn’t show any gameplay from games most PlayStation fans already own:
