Cryptic Studios Was Working on a Jurassic World MMO

Jurassic-World-Super-BowlThere have been a lot of Jurassic Park games over the years, but what about a Jurassic World MMO? That appears to be what one part of Cryptic Studios was working on.

The studio behind MMOs such as City of Heroes, Star Trek Online, and Neverwinter has had some trouble recently with layoffs and the closure of their Seattle studio has revealed a Jurassic World MMO. A post on Reddit describes what it could’ve been:

I got to see some screenshots of Cryptic Studio’s newest game, which was based on Jurassic World. It was a 3rd person game where the player controlled Chris Pratt’s character. Several dinosaurs from the series were going to be in it including: Gallimimus, Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Velociraptor, Spinosaurus and Baryonyx (which the model was just Spino without a sail.)

Not quite sure what you would have done in the game other than it being described as being similar to ‘H1Z1.’ Early Access on Steam would have come out soon but that’s all the info I know.

The game looked quite good and was nearly finished as well. It looks like the game was entirely unknown to anybody outside the company as I can’t even find any info on it at all. I didn’t sign a non-disclosure agreement so that’s why I’m telling you guys this.

A Jurassic World MMO would’ve been cool to see as that sort of open-world Dinosaur game is something people have been wanting. However a game called ARK: Survival Evolved was just announced yesterday for PC and consoles, so that will likely fill whatever desire people have to run around with Dinosaurs in a MMO style environment.
