Back when The Phantom Menace was nearing release most fans will remember the first official look anyone got at the characters in-costume was on the cover of Vanity Fair. Tomorrow, The Force Awakens will repeat that.
The magazine announced that for Star Wars day they’ll have some special The Force Awakens content and they revealed the cover (above):
Chewie, they’re home. On the cover of the June issue of Vanity Fair, photographed by Annie Leibovitz, Han Solo (Harrison Ford) re-unites with his trusty co-pilot Chewbacca, and is joined by some new faces: Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), and a little droid who goes by the name of BB-8. All will be featured in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which opens December 18.
So for those thinking there wouldn’t be anything new for May the 4th this year due to Celebration, this is a nice surprise.
