X-Men Apocalypse Casts Its Psylocke

X-Men Apocalypse PsylockeNot long after revealing she’d appear in the movie, X-Men Apocalypse has found its Psylocke.

Bryan Singer announced yesterday via both Twitter and Instagram that they have cast the only person ever to be fired from the Daily Show in less than a month as Betsy Braddock. Olivia Munn will play the popular mutant from the 90s in the movie, which hopefully means she won’t actually have any dialog.

Created by Chris Claremont and Herb Trimpe in 70s, Betsy is the sister of Captain Britain. That’s right, she’s actually British, but was turned Asian through some crazy comic-book science. She rose to her real popularity from Jim Lee’s legendary run on X-Men in the late 80s and early 90s and has remained a staple mutant over the years. Most recently she was a part of Uncanny X-Force before moving to the all-female X-Men team led by Storm.

Psylocke was actually in X-Men: The Last Stand, but that movie is both retconned and best forgotten.
