M.A.S.K. May Be Introduced in the Third G.I. Joe Movie!

MASKThere are four Transformers movies, two G.I. Joes, and even a rumored G-Bots big screen adaptation but 80s kids have been hoping for a M.A.S.K. movie for a while. Now it sounds like Paramount may be adding that franchise to the next G.I. Joe movie as Habro now owns the franchise.

According to Film Divider, the lead character of M.A.S.K. may join G.I. Joe setting up a possible spin-off down the road:

According to the studio’s current plans, Matt Trakker will be stepping up onto the big screen. he was the lead character of MASK, or Mobile Armoured Strike Kommand, a Kenner toy line and cartoon from the ‘80s.

Trakker joining GI Joe suggests that MASK will be introduced either in this film, set up for a sequel, or possibly be established for their own spin-off. It’s easy to see why Hasbro and Paramount would like this idea.

The crossover was established in the toy lines too. When Hasbro purchased Kenner they folded the series together and a new Trakker action figure was released, reinventing him in the guise of a GI Joe mission specialist.

Just recently I remember seeing fans asking when we’d get a M.A.S.K. movie…now it looks like it could be spun off from G.I. Joe!
