This weeks rumor that said both Shatner and Nimoy would appear in a Star Trek 3 cameo that’s integral to the plot definitely got people talking. The idea of seeing those two on the big screen one last time, especially during Trek’s 50th anniversary, is one that most people welcome. Now there’s been some response to it by two people connected to the rumor.
The first comes from Roberto Orci who comments regularly at Trek Movie:
love no win scenarios. In they, damned either way.
Not in my interest to confirm or deny anything because it limits my options while maintaining my integrity as a truth teller.
The movie is not the movie till it is in the theater. Until then, everything is a rumor.
I have to laugh at his “integrity of a truth teller comment”, especially after how everyone involved with Into Darkness lied about Khan up until release.
The other response came from Shatner on Twitter:
Shatner also pinned that tweet on his feed, as obviously he’s been getting a lot of questions about it.
None of those comments outright deny the rumor, which is interesting. It could very well be true.
