When Marvel put Jeph Leob in charge of Marvel TV, fans braced for the worse. Many feel that the animation side of things has become abysmal since he was put in charge (just look at the cancellation of Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes), and now that same guy is in charge of the Netflix TV series.
Jeph was on Southern California’s KFI AM 640 this morning talking to Comic Book Resources’ Jonah Weiland about the upcoming Daredevil Netflix series, and ComicBook.com caught him bashing the Daredevil movie:
“When we started talking to our actors and to our directors, this is with all due respect to the film, if you want to know what we’re not doing, go watch the movie.”
This is proof that Loeb has no clue what he’s doing. The extended R-RATED director’s cut of Daredevil is by far one of the best Marvel movies that Fox has put out. The only ones that are better than that are probably X2 and Days of Future Past. The extended cut of Daredevil shows the Matt Murdock from the comics equally as much as it shows Daredevil, and the entire sub-plot with Murdock proving a man innocent was sorely missed from the theatrical cut.
Sadly, it seems like no matter how much he ruins Marvel TV Jeph Loeb will always have a job at Marvel…
