Transformers: Age of Extinction has the highest-grossing opening weekend of 2014, but Michael Bay may be done with the franchise. Following the fourth movie, and producing (but not directing) this weekend’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Bay may be moving on to different things for his next movie.
While we’ve heard this before, Bay tells USA Today and he wants to move on to new things:
“There’s kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make,” says Bay, who is eyeing a passion project, a documentary on elephant poaching. “I have a lot of stories to tell. And it’s about flexing new muscles.”
Bay has said similar things in the past, before Transformers 4, so he could always change his mind if Paramount backs up enough Brinks trucks to his mansion.
