Everyone knows the mainstream media likes to make fun of Aquaman. Just watch any episode of The Big Bang Theory that has to do with comic books, and you’ll probably get a joke about how much Aquaman sucks. That’s because people who don’t read comic books don’t know how awesome the King of Atlantis can be. Just pick up any issue of the current New 52 run of Aquaman and you’ll see how dumb these people are.
Naturally morning radio shows are the perfect example of non-geeks trying to sound like they know comic books when they start mocking Aquaman, and CBS Detroit has an audio clip of Zack Snyder calling into one of these shows in Detroit to defend Arthur:
“Aquaman’s trident could actually cut the flesh of Superman if it came in contact, that’s a thing that’s in the canon. He’s super strong because he exists at these super deep depths so when he comes up here he’s crazy strong. Not to say he’s in my movie or anything like that, I’m just saying he has the potential to be bad-ass.”
