If you didn’t leave the theater as soon as Captain America: The Winter Soldier’s credits began, then you saw a Joss Whedon-directed scene that introduced Baron von Strucker and “the twins” from Age of Ultron. At the beginning of this scene, Strucker was shown to be in possession of Loki’s staff from the first Avengers film, and he had it laying horizontal in a mechanical device that was analyzing it.
People have speculated that Strucker may have harnessed the power of the staff, which is where Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch get their powers. That’s obviously unconfirmed right now, but today Marvel quietly added Loki’s staff, still inside Strucker’s device, to their SDCC booth and tweeted the above image for everyone to see.
Does this mean that we could see a big Strucker-Hydra presence at Marvel’s panel tomorrow night?
