The original Planet of the Apes movie series from the late-60s and early-70s is known for basically inventing the movie franchise long before Star Wars came along. It’s also known for each sequel receiving a lower budget than the previous movie to the point where the final film in the series, Battle for the Planet of the Apes, was so low budget it looked like they filmed it in someone’s backyard.
Fox’s reboot of the series is thankfully giving us remakes of the later movies in the series. The first was a remake of Conquest, and next month’s movie is definitely a remake of Battle. Only this time they have a good budget and we get awesome scenes like apes dual wielding assault rifles.
