It looks like the tradition of Star Wars games being cancelled has lived beyond the death of Lucasarts. This time the space combat game Attack Squadrons has received the axe, and it’ll never see the light of day despite being in beta with people participating in the test.
Kotaku has discovered that the game’s beta has suddenly ended with a message stating that development of the game has been cancelled.
From people who played the beta, Attack Squadrons played similarly to the Rogue Squadron games although not nearly as good. It was apparently pretty buggy and limited, and there obviously was going to be a heavy micro-transaction element to what would’v been a Free to Play title.
