Space Marine Now Has Co-Op

|

Fans of Relic’s Warhammer 40k action shooter Space Marine can now bloodily mutilate Orks with their friends. THQ has pushed the free “Exterminatus” co-op patch to the PS3 and PC, and the Xbox 360 version should be live “soon”. When you login to the game on the PS3, you’ll be prompted to download the patch; while Steam users should have it automatically downloaded.

The co-op mode has two maps, with very 40k-sounding names: “Assault on Hab Center Andreas” and “Escape From Kalkys Facility”. Each one pits up to four players against a horde of enemies in a score-based battle. The experience you earn in this mode is applied to your multiplayer progression and unlocks, so it’s another way to level up in that if you’re getting tired of the competitive modes that were included in the main game.

While Space Marine won’t be seeing a sequel, at least this co-op mode will give the solid shooter some more life.
