Aliens: Colonial Marines is still alive

|

It seems as if it’s been ages since Gearbox announced that they were doing an Aliens first-person shooter for SEGA titled Aliens: Colonial Marines, and to be honest many thought that it was quietly cancelled much like Obsidian’s Aliens RPG. Fear not, as the shooter is still very much alive. Joystiq got the scoop from Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford at PAX where he was asked about Colonial Marines and revealed that as it’s a FOX property they don’t have total freedom to talk about it, but they have recently spoken to SEGA about the game:

“Earlier this week, I was down in San Francisco and I had lunch with the head of Sega of America and he is committed to this. And we’re going to make this awesome. I know it’s been awhile since the announcement first happened that we’re in for Aliens. I promise you it will not take as long as Duke Nukem Forever. We’re not going to let this dream die, it’s going to happen.”

So the ultimate Aliens FPS will still be happening, but it looks like we’ll just have to wait a little while longer.
