The Phantom Menace 3D Trailer is Awesome

After being released with the 3D version of the new Three Musketeers movie, the Phantom Menace trailer made it online in bootleg form that died faster than Porkins. Lucasfilm probably got tired of killing every bootleg link that went up on Vimeo and Youtube, as they’ve finally released the trailer online for those who don’t want to pay to see the Resident Evil director’s take on the Three Musketeers.

Unlike the disappointing poster, the trailer for the 3D re-release is actually pretty awesome! It actually reminds me a lot of the best Star Wars trailer ever made, which was the trailer for the initial special edition re-release in 1997. That trailer is still amazing, and it’s pretty obvious that Lucasfilm was trying to imitate it with the 3D trailer. A couple things to notice is both the new 20th Century Fox logo made for 3D and a brand new 3D Lucasfilm logo.

This version of Phantom Menace will most likely be the one just released on Blu-Ray, complete with the awesome CG Yoda, so that means there probably won’t be any other changes to get the haters raging.
