Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Confirmed

|

After being rumored forever, the new issues of the Official Xbox and Official PlayStation Magazines have made it official; Slant Six (SOCOM: Confrontation) is making a multiplayer Resident Evil shooter set in Raccoon City. Anyone who experienced Resident Evil 2 when it originally came out knows that it’s the best game the series has ever done, and it holds a special place in the heart of fans; which makes setting the shooter in that timeline a smart idea.

The game will feature two sides, Umbrella and the US Government who is trying to uncover what Umbrella is trying to cover up. Apparently killing Leon is one of the objectives Umbrella has, while one would assume that the US Government would try to protect him. It’ll feature co-op gameplay for up to four players, so think of it as Resident Evil meets Left 4 Dead.

Wednesday marks the 15th anniversary of Resident Evil’s release on the US PlayStation, so expect more zombie fun shortly.
