The Empire Strikes Back Added to National Film Registry

Back in 1989, Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope was added to the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress to be preserved forever. This year, partially in honor of its 30th Anniversary, The Empire Strikes back has been added to the registry along with George Lucas’ original 1967 student film that went on to become THX 1138. With both Star Wars and Empire now preserved forever, two out of the three Star Wars movies are in there. Will we have to wait until 2013 for Jedi?
